Jumped in my car with no plans ahead of me...

So it's been over a year and a half since I last used Xanga. I had to reset my password! Seems the last entry was about graduation. Well I did graduate and went to work a month later. It was a pretty relaxing last week of school knowing I had a job waiting for me AND a super long vacation.

But that job come and went. I was there for about a year. Now I've moved from the little town of Beaumont to big city Austin. Better job with better pay and better people, definitely. I don't feel like I'm in a sweat shop or a jail cell. Did I enjoy the place? Yea for the time being until it started getting all crazy and suspicious. At the new place I may not have anyone to chit chat with like I used to, but at least they keep me busy. Where else do you get in trouble for not doing work when there isn't any work. And then get blamed for not working when apparently there was work "hidden" somewhere and it was your job to search for it. Seriously. Well I always felt that certain people had it in for me. Oh well, fakeness will get people so far. I do believe in karma, and I can't wait until karma gets back to those people. You can't promote a learning environment when you make people feel like they are bothering you by asking questions or somehow make them feel dumb for not knowing how to do something.

I'm sure alot of people out there know the situation I was in and how multiple people advised me to quit before I went crazy. I seriously think that job killed me mentally. I couldn't sleep or eat or anything. Suddenly the job became a chore. A place to go because I had to go, not because I wanted to show up every morning at 8ish and be tortured with an empty desk and endless hours of online shopping and vacation planning. You wouldn't believe the things I did to keep myself from going mentally insane. No work at a job can do strange things to you.

Well enough about the "prison" as we liked to call it. After that job suddenly ended, I spent the last 3 days in Beaumont doing what I knew may be one of the few times I'd be doing stuff with the people who are still there. I packed up my stuff, jumped in my car, and left early that Thursday morning headed toward the big city. It felt strange going somewhere with no plans, no itinerary. There was something freeing about that. That Monday after Mardi Gras I felt like a big weight was lifted off my chest. I could finally breathe and I definitely was going to take each day one step at a time, occasionally stopping to smell the roses.

Couple of weeks later I was the proud owner of a new job in Austin. I really enjoy going. I feel more challenged. Oh and I actually feel like I'm slowly learning something. How about that?!  I hate when people ask "How do you like your job?" Truthfullly, I can only say that it's only as exciting as accounting and taxes can be. I'm not going to sugar coat it and make up some stories about how fabulous the day went. You'd know I was lying. It's still a learning process, but everyone learns something new everyday.

Austin is a pretty big change for a little town girl like me. I don't like the traffic. Parking here sucks. People don't know how to park. Like today, at work in the garage, I saw a minivan (a Dodge Caravan!) parked in a small car spot! I think people are just LAZY and DUMB! Seriously, when is a SUV a small car?!?!

Enough venting for today... must end and continue tomorrow.
This way fun! I forgot how exciting Xanga used to be and when you would get all excited when someone updated their Xanga. I'm old now. I need to head off to bed. Trying to make it to work ON TIME tomorrow.

Counting down the days.....

Well it's been one hectic semester. Nothing as crazy as a hurricane, but pretty much equal stress. There's been little sleep, but i finally took my last college final on Thursday. With so many bonus points, I didnt even have to take the final to make a B. Yea I know, not an A, but the final wasn't worth enough to make that. I would've been 5 points short. So i'm waiting on ONE professor to post up the grades, but I'm sure I know I passed that class. I need to try on my gown to see what kind of dress to wear under it. And what kind of shoes! Because I think the most important are the shoes, since that's like the only thing seen. Looks like we have TONS of shopping to do this Thursday and Friday.

Monday... 5 days left. I wonder if anything exciting will happen today. I have to stay at home, because the workers are coming by to finish up the bathroom. They should be done by tomorrow, so on Wednesday I can finally go Christmas shopping.

Yesterday, I finally found a banquet dress for wednesday. For some odd reason, it's missing the ribbon, so i'll have to go buy a big shiny Red or Blue ribbon. Blue just to keep in the spirit of AKPsi. Hmmm I guess I should put up my picture.. oh well when and IF i ever have time.

The next couple of days will be spent cleaning the house because for some odd reason it has to be spotless for someone's arrival. I don't know why. Argh YOU!! And then driving to Austin to pick up Kath because she doesn't have a ride home to make it in time for graduation.

Okay, I'm going to go eat some Suicide Buffalo Wings... I'm HUNGRY! MUNCH MUNCH!! and practice my walk....

Only one more semester to go and I will be DONE! for now at least.

Thursday: 11-12:15 Advanced Acct & 4-5:15 Strategic Mgmt Lecture
Friday: 10:10-11 Spanish 3 & 12:20-1:10 MISY

With all the meetings mixed in between that TV watching rarely happens.
New officer position as treasurer for AKPsi. I'm still trying to find the missing $17
RUSH is for the next two weeks, so little time for studying or just no sleep whatsoever.
I've actually been doing my homework which is SHOCKING

I think last weekend will be my last road trip for awhile. Since the beginning of August I've been to: Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, and then back to Austin. And yes I was there for the game. And yes I did go to the game. And I know they lost, but still, I was there. I am too tired to put pictures up. In time....

Okay I think I'm gonna head to bed now. I've got to wake up in 5 hours = 7:30 AM!!! to study for my management quiz that i attempted but failed at studying because i wasn't absorbing anything i read for the past hour.

94 cent margaritas tomorrow.... it's going to be a looooooong nite. (that's supposed to be a yawn)
